The mini-Content Management System (CMS) provided for each Crowd makes it easy to publish a series of articles that are related to the Crowd, for example Case Studies covering success stories from previously submitted Ideas, or Help articles to help Crowd Members get the most out of the Crowd.

To add an article, to the CMS, the CMS needs to be enabled for the Crowd, which is covered in this article.

When the CMS is enabled, an Articles section will appear at the bottom of the Crowd Profile page. (Note, the Section might have a different heading than 'Articles', depending on your Crowd Page Layout settings).

Adding an Article

To add a new Article, tap the Create button.

The Create Article page will open with a number of fields that need to be completed before the Article can be published.

  • Title: Add a title which should be a few words, and is used to identify the article.

  • Short Description: A very brief overview of the article, which is displayed on the article's 'card' that is presented on the Crowd Profile page. Keep it short enough that the text isn't longer than the space on the card!

  • Display Order: The Crowd Profile page will show up to 6 articles (on a 3x2 grid) at any time. The Display Order controls the order that each article will display on the 3x2 grid.

  • Public: Used to toggle whether the display is visible or not. Tick this option to make the article visible.

  • Full Text: The full text of the article, which can be recorded with rich text. The full text will only be displayed when someone chooses to read the article.

  • Images: The images that can be associated with the article. Choose an Image, and click the Add button to attach it to the article. By default, the first image added will be set as the default image for the article (denoted by the selected radio button, highlighted below). A text caption field (also highlighted below) will also be displayed where appropriate caption text for the image can be added. Further images can be added to the article, with appropriate captions, and can be set as the default image if required by toggling the appropriate image radio button.

When all fields have been completed and images uploaded, the article can be saved by tapping the Save button at the bottom of the page.

The article will now be displayed on the Crowd Profile page, illustrated in the example below.

Editing Articles

To edit an article, tap the Maintain button on the Crowd Profile page.

The Maintain Articles page will be displayed, showing all articles that have been added.

Tap the Edit link to edit an article, or the Delete link to remove an article from the CMS.
