Adding a Pulse Alert to a Pulse question

When scheduling a Pulse question (find out how here), this is where you will have the option to set out the criteria for triggering an alert. In order to set up an alert, you will be required to enter the below information. These fields will be visible after you select the crowd to which it should be scheduled

Alert Group Name - The name of the Alert Group that the Alert will be created in (as determined in step 2 above)

Pulse Count - The number of Pulses that are recorded before an alert is created. As soon as the number entered is reached (subject to Pulse Score and Time Period settings below), an Alert Item will be created in the selected Alert Group.

Pulse Score - The high Pulse Score that the Alert Workflow will use when determining if the Pulse Count has been met. These are determined when setting up the pulse question

Time-period - The timeframe over which the Pulse Count is calculated. This is treated as a rolling time-period – for example if the value is 1 hour, the calculation will check the last hour every time a new Pulse is added to determine whether the conditions have been met for the creation of a Pulse Alert.

When a Pulse Alert is created, the Alert Workflow’s Pulse Count immediately reverts back to 0, and the time period starts from now (i.e. the previous 1 hour time is not used in the calculation).
